Swami Swananda (Sunil Maharaj)

Born in 1920. An initiated disciple of Swami Virajanandaji, joined the order at Belur Math in 1947 and received sannyasa from Swami Shankaranandaji Maharaj in 1957. He served in various capacities at the Cherrapunjee, Rangoon Society and Belur Math. Was also the head of the centres at Patna, Saradapitha, Berkley, New Delhi and Advaita Ashrama (Mayavati). He passed away at the age of 77 on 25 May, 1997 at Varanasi Sevashrama.
